Grâce à Kate Read (et à sa petite Anne Penny), nous sommes transportés en 1915 et nous montons à bord d’un grand convoi de 6 péniches-hôpital qui ramenaient de Paris à Rouen les soldats britanniques blessés sur le Front. Là, ils embarquaient sur les bateaux-hôpital et retournaient, dans les meilleurs conditions possibles, dans leurs pays, les photographies et les extraits de lettres constituent un formidable témoignage. Thanks to Kate Read, acting matron (and her granddaughter, Anne Penny), we are transported to the year 1915 and we embark on a great flotilla of 6 hospital barges that brought wounded British soldiers from the warfront to Rouen, where they were transferred to hospital ships to be brought back home, in the best possible conditions, The photographies and the excerpts of letters presented here constitute a wonderful testimony.
