Summer concept-store

Escale méditerranéenne

From 2 May to 3 November 2019, a new pop-up store is open at the fort Saint-Jean.

This summer, the Mucem is partnering with the AZUL collective to offer Mucem visitors a Mediterranean trip in the « Escale méditerranéenne » pop-up store at the fort Saint-Jean.

AZUL, which means "blue" in Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese, is a reminder of the the Mediterranean’s azure waters. In Kabyle, it signifies “with heart” and in Berber “hello”, thus evoking Mediterranean generosity and friendliness. What a heritage!

In this space, AZUL invites visitors to stop during their day for a break in the sunshine to discover the know-how of artisans and designers from around the Mediterranean basin (Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Grece, Turkey, etc). Discover decorative and tableware artworks, textiles, fashion accessories, cosmetics, lighting, plants, books, … the very best of the Mediterranean all in the same place!

AZUL has also set aside a corner for a fine foods counter to allow allow visitors to get to taste the best of the Mediterranean.
