The images inspired by the Mediterranean are many and varied. They could not possibly all be shown in one exhibition.

The approach of the one which will be located in the J4 for several years is to concentrate on images which museums and their collections have greatly helped bring about since the eighteenth century, especially through the mediation of artists and ethnologists.
