Visitors with disabilities
Fully concerned with issues of accessibility, the MuCEM has implemented numerous initiatives focused on accessibility and integration of people with disabilities. The physical accessibility of buildings and exhibits, including the listed Historical Monument of Fort Saint Jean, the suitability of front desk staff, assistance and safety for people with disabilities, and the implementation of a dedicated and appropriate cultural collection are all at the heart of the museum's public policy.
Recognising the need to surround itself with experts in disability so as to consider and create a global accessibility policy, from the outset of the project, the MuCEM formed a committee bringing together Marseille-based associations representing disability. Together, they considered the physical, sensory and cognitive accessibility of the museum.
